Essential of A Christian Worldview
There is a myriad of components that make up a solid worldview. For example, a
worldview may give great advice, follow a morally sound code, and even promote peace, but
there is no other worldview like the Christian worldview. The Christian worldview is great not
merely because the founder of the Christian worldview proves that he is God by performing
miracles and fulfilling many prophecies, but because he died on the cross for everyone’s sins so
that we can enter the kingdom of heaven. There is a plethora of benefits that come with having
a Christian worldview such as eternal life. Although there is a variety of Christian traditions they
all share the same set of beliefs. The Christian worldview is very complete and has the answers
to almost every question within the bible. The bible reveals many things about God, Jesus, and
The bible reveals many of Gods attributes through the stories of His creation. It reveals
that he is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, eternal, and consistent. In Genesis 1 and 2 it
reveals that God is a sovereign creator of all things. God is also good, fair, faithful, jealous, and
holy. Some of these attributes are revealed through all of his creations according to Romans
1:20. God is also the Lord of all creation. God is distinct form his creations and see worship of
other creations as idolatry. God exists as a triune being, meaning he is three persons. The three
persons of the Holy Trinity are God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Although 1 God exists as three persons, we Christians still believe in only one God. It doesn’t specify that all
three persons played a role in the creation of the universe, but it is evident in the Bible that
They did. This is revealed in the bible, when God says, “let us make mankind in our own image,”
(Genesis 1:26). It can be inferred that the Father’s role was when God spoke the heavens and
earth into existence by his word. The Holy Spirit’s role was when God created the natural world.
This is evident in Genesis 1:2 which reads, “The Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the
waters.” It is revealed in the New Testament that Jesus was responsible for the creation and
striking details of the heavens and earth. The bible states that, “All things were made through
Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made,” (John 1:3). The bible refers to
Jesus as the word of God.
One of God greatest creations, according to the bible, is the creation of man. Many
people misinterpret some of the scriptures and see the human body as sinful. The Christian
worldview believes that the human flesh is good and should be used to service God. In genesis 1
it informs that man was made in the image of God and describes us as the pinnacle of His
creation. God used to dwell with man in the Garden of Eden God originally created humans to
be free from death, sin, and decay, and all wisdom came from the Lord, but because of “the
original sin” we all have to face death knowing knowledge of good and evil. Humans were
created to know and love God by following His commandments. This is evident in 1 John 4:10,
which states that God loves us and wants us to love Him and fellowship with Him. According to
Hebrews 11:6, humans can please God by having faith. God rewards those that seeks Him.
Humans were also created to have dominion over all of the other creatures. We were also 2 created to work. Many people believe that work was a result of the fall but God made man work
in the Garden before the “original sin.”
The bible contains four separate accounts of Jesus. The four gospels, which include
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, have different perspectives of Jesus’ works. The first three
gospels, Matthew, Mark, and Luke share a similar story and are called the synoptic gospels.
Jesus is the messiah and son of God. In his early years he lived a regular life. He was not born to
wealthy, noble parents. He went to school and worked with his father who was a carpenter. At
about age 30 he begins an itinerant ministry. In his ministry, he was known for his powerful
teaching and performing miracles. Jesus often taught through parables. In Jesus first sermon,
which can be found in Luke 4:16-21, He identified himself as the son of God had many
followers. He has received recognition all over the region, and he tried to keep a low profile. The
Romans were infuriated with his claims and wanted him dead. Pontius Pilate approved of his
execution. Jesus was crucified, which was the worst form of execution. Jesus was in so much
pain that he sweated blood, but in spite of being in all that pain Jesus still didn’t say a word.
Jesus died so that everyone would have a chance to have everlasting life. He rose from the dead
on the third day.
Because of man’s departure from wisdom we can no longer talk and connect with God.
Humans cannot live up to the covenant requirements, and because of Gods faithfulness, he
terminated his relationship with humanity to stay faithful to His agreement. This is why God sent
His son to die on the cross. Jesus being sent on the cross is an example of God’s grace. By
worshiping and accepting Jesus we can connect with God. Accepting Jesus means you must put
an end to all selfish desires for power, wealth, and fame. Jesus once said that, “It is easier for a
camel to get through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. 3 This is because a rich man will not let go of all of his belongings because of his greed. Once you
accept Jesus you immediately receive everlasting life.
There are many benefits of having a Christian worldview. If you have a Christian
worldview, you not only bring peace to your life and many others, but you are guaranteed to
have eternal life. One thing that some people may find confusing about the Christian faith is that
we have to reach God through Jesus because of our inability to pursue a sin free life. When
people become Christians, their way of thinking changes. They start to become less selfish and
give more of their attention to God. They also think different because they believe in thing that
are unnatural. Not only do we believe that we can’t do all thing through Christ, but we believe,
according to Matthew 17:20, that we can move mountains by simply having faith. There are
many other scriptures that talks about faith. We also believe that we should love our neighbors
like we do ourselves. I believe that once we fully learn how to love ourselves and others we can
the learn to love God. This is proven in 1 John 4:20.
I live out my Christian worldview by having faith and treating others how I want to be
treating. I also pray and go to chapel. Very occasionally when I want to feel empowered I read
scriptures from the bible.
The Cristian worldview is overall a great worldview to live out. The Christian worldview
is not only true but it Guarantees that we will have eternal life. I believed that if everyone has a
Christian worldview and acts selfless the world will be a better place. References
