2Personal Learning Network PlanA Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree can be a significant decision in one’s academic career development. You may find yourself assessing your resources and support systemto determine how you will achieve your degree. Some of those resources require commitment from you to reach out to others and gain their feedback, share stories, and learn from one another, which leads you to your Personal Learning Network (PLN). PLNs help you connect and share information with others (Thompson, 2012). It fosters an effort between individuals for integrated learning (Marín, Negre & Pérez, 2014).PLN Network and ToolsThere is a plethora of social networking sites (SNS) that provide a platform for users. LinkedIn, Twitter, and Walden’s residency programs will play a key role in managing my learning environment. LinkedIn has been a part of my learning network for many years. It allows me to connect with professionals in various fields and specialties from locations all over the world. Twitter provides a platform for users to share, post, tweet, and learn from others (Grantham, 2012). Either social media platforms can introduce me to users that share tools and strategies which would benefit me during my degree program (Marín, Negre & Pérez, 2014).Moreover, Walden’s residency program will introduce me to faculty members and studentswho can provide advice or constructive criticism during the dissertation process (Laureate Education, 2013). It gives me an opportunity to relate to the challenges faced by other students and potentially meet lifelong friends (Laureate Education, 2013).Professional ProfileA profile gives readers, followers, and users a glimpse of an individual’s skills, experiences, and background. Currently, my LinkedIn profile informs readers about my
3educational background, including my enrollment with Walden University. I have also listed my employment history and skills that I have acquired throughout my educational and professional career. As I enhance my profile, I plan on conveying my interest and goals in a concise manner.
