Validity in Quantitative Research Designs Quality evidence-based practice research must me valid. It is an important skill for nurses to critique quantitative research. The nurse must consider not only the result of the study but also the rigor, or the extent to which the researches worked to make the quality of the study better. Validity is the extent to which a concept is measured in a quantitative study (Polit & Beck, 2017). Rigor is determined through validity and reliability of the tools used in the studies. A good research will help you decide if you should apply findings in your area of practice. The title of the study that I chose for this week’s discussion board was: An intervention program to promote health-related physical fitness in nurses. In this study, there we are a couple of concerns that could point out some validity issues.
