(2018 Philadelphia Museum of Art)For my visual analysis on a piece of art I chose to go to thePhiladelphia Museum of Art, an art piece by the artist AntonioRuiz, Bicycle Race. This painting is a painting of four athletesracing to the finish line. There are two up front competingalongside one another as well as two contestants coming in quicklybehind them. They are leaning forward with such eager graspingthe handlebars so tightly with such strong looks on there faces, pedaling as fast as they possibly can. It seems to me that they are inthe middle of there town where they grew up in as there are manyspectators around watching them race and cheering them on.The weather in the painting is beautiful and sunny a perfectday for a race although the trees look like they are swaying prettyhard so it's safe to say it may have been windy as well. There are allgenerations of people out here cheering the bikers on, even smallchildren (Philadelphia Museum of Art, n.d)3. The sky could havebeen a brighter shade of blue. He also could have shown differentages of the children to show that all generations were there. The
trees could have been out more and not so hidden behindeverything since they are a very important aspect of CentralAmerica,This must be some sort of tradition in their culture. At first I did noteven realize the many people dangling their legs over top up on the righthand side. The artist gave so much detail in this painting that every time Ihad looked at it again and again I noticed new things happening in thepainting. This I thought was very cool to me how much detail could trulybe put into a painting like this. On the left side of the painting there arethe important people standing under colorful and decorated banners thatare blowing in the wind. The second and third glance at the painting I stillnoticed more and more then I had the first time around. In the upper lefthand corner there are three men up in the treetops it looks as if theywanted a better view from up there as they are on look out to see who willbe the winner (Philadelphia Museum of Art, n.d)3.The artist Antonio Ruiz painted this painting from a scene of hiscountry fair that was in his hometown of Texcoco. This place is located incentral Mexico. Everything in this painting was to portray the realness ofhow the race looked for another person's eye. The banners hanging overthe judges of the race are colored red, white and green resembling the
Mexican flag. This shows real authenticity.Everything in the paintingmakes you feel as if you yourself were in the town.Every time I closed my eyes while staring at the painting I truly feltas if I were on the sidelines ready to cheer on the best racer. TheJacaranda trees are found all throughout Mexico and Central America andthat is why they are a big part of this painting. Even though they are in the
