Chapter One Introduction 1.0 Introduction The rise in the number of organizations in the world is also associated with the intensely competitive environment you will find in such settings. Specific examples of such large organizations are Apple, Samsung Electronics, Royal Dutch Shell, Volkswagen Group, Toyota, Walmart and China National Petroleum, to mention a few. Being one of the top twenty companies in the world, they are highly competitive in individual niches. Hence, the performance of such organizations will play a huge in their success. Organizations understand the importance of performance rates and endeavor to score high in that regard. Several instances prove that performance ratio is critical in the growth of organizations, societies, families, and the country at large. For instance, students study to score high marks, investors put their money in organizations based on the performance ration, and customers purchase products with good sale performance in the market. Therefore, no one can truly overemphasize the importance of employee performance in the achievement of strategic company objectives. Performance is one of the critical sources that shows the economic growth and competitiveness of an organization. Generally, performance can be categorized into labor performance, capital performance, machine performance, and energy performance for an
