Guidelines for Intermediate Laceration Repair This is similar the simple laceration repair except this involves more than one deeper layer of skin. Extensive cleaning to prevent contamination or infection would need to be done

Guidelines for Complex Laceration Repair This includes repair that are deeper than the simple and intermediate laceration repair. Multiple layers of skin are involved and the preparation includes a limited necessary in repair of the laceration. Do not include and repairs when checking for benign or malignant excisions.
