It will also explore the more technical aspects of personnel management, including legal issues, compensation, and employer/employee rights in sufficient depth to give a reasonable understanding of their purpose and nature. The course is taught using a series of seminar type lectures, readings, case histories and guest lectures. Additional Information for this Online Course In the D2L course-online learning community, students participate in graded online discussion activities (e.g. cases, simulated role plays, ethical dilemmas and discussion groups) to develop an understanding of how the course concepts apply to management situations in organizations. The course is presented through five human resource management themes: HRM in perspective, meeting human resources requirements, developing effective human resources, total compensation management and building effective employee-employer relationships.
