Extra bibliographic note Step 1: Understand the assignment - Read the assignment and rubric thoroughly multiple times. I knew exactly what was expected and where to start. Step 2: Select a topic and draft a research question - Choose the topic that intrigued me the most. Decided the approach I would take in regards to the chosen topic. Step 3: Create an outline and design a research strategy - I decided the format of the essay. Then I decided that would place all my research in a document to make the writing process easier. Course notes the were applicable to my topic were all place in a Desire2learn Binder. Step 4: Conduct initial research - Put my focus and attention specifically on false news and the Mercury case to begin. Assured that the sources chosen were credible. Step 5: Develop a preliminary thesis statement- Thought of the arguable stance I am taking regarding the topic. I made sure there is supporting points behind the argument sentence chosen.
