3-3 Final Project Milestone One: Submit Case Study and Theoretical OrientationThe patient, Alicia, is a 29-year-old female engineer. Alicia began to show signs of depression in early November. She was feeling low and lacking motivation. Due to daylight savings occurring around the same time her symptoms were showing, she brushed them off as anaffect from the time change. This was not uncommon for Alicia, as a child she often felt gloomy with the increased darkness. As time grew, so did the gloomy feeling. Alicia was normally a very happy and optimistic person and found herself questioning the meaning of her life. Additionally, Alicia previously enjoyed hobbies such as shopping and dancing with her friends, which she halted as they began to feel more like a chore than they were fun. As time grew on so did the blue feeling. In February she found herself no longer wanting to leave her home or go to work. The felt like putting effort into these things was meaningless. Her hope for the future dwindled and as her absentee rate increased with work, she was fearful of losing her job. This felling was negatively affecting all aspects of her life. In an effort to find fix the funk she was in, she took two weeks off from work to attempt to understand and fix the depression.
