2 THE TEMPTEST The Tempest-Full Play The Tempest opens amidst a wild tempest. The area is a ship adrift, with an illustrious gathering on board. As the Mariners battle to spare the ship, a few of the Imperial travellers enter, and Alonso, the Lord, requests to know where the ace (chief) is to be found. The boatswain stressed that the travellers will meddle, orders them to go underneath the deck. The ruler's counsellor, Gonzalo, reminds the boatswain that he is addressing the Lord, yet the boatswain brings up that if the Lord truly has so much power, he should utilize it to suppress the tempest. In the event that he does not have this power, the illustrious party ought to go beneath decks, as the boatswain orders. The Imperial party exists, apparently to go underneath the deck to look for protecting. Staging, Lighting, Costumes, and Characters The Tempest is striking for its remarkable broadness of innovative vision. The play is saturated with enchantment and illusion.
