FOOD LION EMPLOYEE HIGHLIGHTS This month’s issue will feature and highlight one of Food Lion’s store managers. John Hurst is the store manager of store number 1450 located in Hampton, Virginia. He has been employed with Food Lion for almost twenty years. Within those years he has worked in several stores and has held many positions including stocker, produce prep, grocery manager, assistant manager and now store manager. John graduated from Ferguson High School where he met his high school sweetheart. They later on married and had a daughter who now works for Food Lion as well. He is a dedicated worker who is quick to jump in and lend a hand when needed. He is one of those managers that doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty and leads by example. Not only does he lead, but he is also eager to learn any and everything there is available to learn. He has a drive inside of him that is like no other. John is the type that likes to know every detail of every job so that when questions are asked of him, he is able to thoroughly answer them. And if he doesn’t have the answer he will make sure to find it. Food lion is dedicated to educating its employees and keeping them up to date on changes and the evolving times.
