Selection is the second phase of the talent acquisition process. It involves choosing individuals with correct qualification to fill jobs in an organization. Placement is fitting a person for a job. Selection is a key responsibility for all managers in a company. Personality is a unique blend of individual characteristics that can affect how people interact with their work environment. The “big five traits” is extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience. Emotional intelligence is the ability recognizes our own feelings and the feelings of others. Self-awareness, social awareness, self-management and relationship management are the four dimensions of emotional intelligence. Companies use different test to assess the honesty and integrity of applicants and employees to prevent hiring dishonest employees to reduce the frequency of lying and theft on the job, to communicate to applicants and employees alike that dishonest will not be tolerated, and to reduce accidents.
