Welcome to 6 th grade math! 6 th Grade Math Information Letter I am excited to be working with your child this year in math. As you know, your child is in a GT/Pre-AP math class. As a GT/Pre-AP student, there is a level of academic expectations that your child should have acquired prior to coming into 6 th grade. I will be giving several pre-tests throughout the year on objectives that your child should have previously learned/mastered with fluency in prior grade levels, which will be needed in this current year to be successful on new topics. If your child has not mastered these objectives, I will be contacting you and suggesting extra help in order to get your child caught up and on a successful path in math. Your child has been issued their own Go Math textbook. Please make sure that your child puts their name on the edges of the book with a marker in case it gets misplaced/lost. Textbooks are not required to be in class each day, but should be handy in their locker. Students will be given advance
