Friedman believed that actions taken by companies in order to provide welfare are done by people and not just the institutions itself, as the members of this companies are the ones who have the power to make any decision. This leads to individuals trying to legitimating their actions having the institutions they represent as a shield, being it either good or bad decisions in a concept of ethics, as CSR role is not only regards to economics, but about the moral actors. Friedman was a defensor of the capitalism and free-system enterprise, which departs from individualistic principles and not collectivist ones, which means all the actions should be done by those individuals’ account, as shareholders in the private accountability are the ones capable to act with social responsibility.
