1. Describe and discuss two items/concepts you learned about proper evidence collection. I’ve learned that proper evidence is so much more than jut simply bagging up evidence and processing it. Photography of evidence or a crime scene involves not only taking photographs, but also knowing which type of camera equipment and angles to use. For example when photographing an impression, a tripod and detachable flash should be used (Crime Scene, p. 99). The photograph should also include some type of measurement scale. The scale should be level with the impression and be about the same size as the impression to ensure it is properly documented. I also learned the importance of handling and packaging evidence and how important it is during an investigation. The type of evidence depends on how it should be handled and transported.
