1. i. Identify at least (3) network services and select the best option for the scenario. a. DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) - automates the assignment of IP address, subnet masks, gateway and other IP networking parameters. i. Users port numbers 67 & 68 ii. DHCP client requests are sent to the server on UDP port number 67 iii. The DHCP server offers IP address to DHCP clients on UDP port number 68 b. ADDS (Active Directory Domain Services) - when a user logs into a computer that is part of a Windows domain, Active Directory verifies the password and specifies whether the user is a system administrator or normal user. c. DNS (Domain Name System) - converts a domain name to an IP address ii. Test and validate the chosen option whether it would be applicable for the company.(reason for using the chosen services) a. DHCP gives you a central way to configure the network settings of all of your networked computers. As long as your operating system is configured to use DHCP then all that is needed to do is plug in the network cable and we are ready to go. The sorts of things that DHCP can configure are:- The IP address The network mask The address of the Domain Name Server The address of the WINS server The Host name The Domain Name The Gateway address The Time Server address The Print Server address b. ADDS Is used for an array of network services to store information and data related to network and domains.
