Curriculum Essay 2 Pursuing a career in Early Childhood Education is not a decision that should be taken lightly. Although research and organizations such as National Association for the Education of Young Children provide educators with age appropriate guidelines for teaching children, it is up to us as teachers to routinely educate ourselves so that we are equipped with the knowledge needed to provide children in our care with quality service. It is critical that we are prepared to teach the whole child. Parents rely on educators to foster their children learning, creativity, and imagination as well as keep them safe. This paper will identify and explain three different philosophies that reflect how I envision my curriculum and classroom. I will also summarize my concepts for math, reading, science, fine art and provide two specific activities for each subject that reflex my philosophy. In order to have an effective curriculum, one must first have an effective classroom management policy. The children are provided a safe and friendly environment, and I am committed to educating all the children in my care. I firmly believe that parents play a critical role in a child’s development. Therefore, they are encouraged to be active in their education.

The centers are set up with clear containers that are labeled and reachable without teacher assistance. This not only makes a child’s feel independence, but it also lets them know where items belong when it’s time to clean up. As a teacher, I observe and listen to children as they interact with each other. I use the information that I gather to incorporate their interests into our daily program. Children should have frequent opportunities and plenty of time to explore and experience a variety of materials. It is important to encourage a child to make their own choices. I believe that emphasis should be

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
