1. What are the key differences between nonprofits and the government and for-profit sectors? In what ways are they similar/different? The three-main sectors nonprofit, for-profit, and government all share key differences and similarities. According to Worth (2017) the first difference between the three are the measurements of success. Regardless of the for-profit organizations mission, the number one goal is to make money by providing goods and/or services (pg. 20). On the other hand, in nonprofits, success is not measured in terms of profitable gains, but in how the nonprofit fulfills its established mission. Nonprofits also do not only have one bottom line, they have a double bottom line. The first bottom line is fulfilling the established mission. The second bottom line is having the funding necessary in order to support bottom line, now and in the future. Non-profit organizations are considered public benefit corporations that obtain their revenue
