Jesseeca Watkins SCS-200-J2239 Project One: Research Investigation Project One: Research Investigation I. A. Describe the issue in the social sciences that you have selected to investigate. Why is this issue significant? The social science issue I have chosen to investigate is Different Treatments for Disease across Cultures. This social science issue is significant to me because I believe in the use of alternate medicines to treat certain diseases and health related problems, rather than using main stream pharmaceuticals to treat health related problems. Having different treatments available is beneficial to everyone because it can decrease the number of patients that end up getting addicted to the pharmaceutical drugs that are being prescribed, it also gives cultures the options to find a treatment that is appropriate to their certain needs. Though not all alternate medicines cure diseases, they do aid in relieving some symptoms. The risk of death from atypical medicines are less than that of conventional medicines. I.B. Describe at least three social science resources that you could use to investigate the issue you selected. Your sources must be relevant to your issue and must be of an academic nature appropriate for the issue. In your description, consider questions such as: What are the similarities and differences in the content of your sources? What makes them appropriate and relevant for investigating your issue? What was your thought process when you were searching for sources? How did you make choices?

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
