Vida Andoun BISC 300 Microbology Dr. Shirin Birjandi 10 September 2018 A new antibiotic kills pathogens without detectable resistance Rapid emergence of antibiotics resistance is spreading fast that endanger the efficacy of antibiotics, leading to emerge of antibiotic resistance faster than the introduction of new antimicrobial agents that caused public health crisis. A new antibiotic called Teixobactin that is against gram positive bacteria inhibits cell wall synthesis by binding to protein II and protein III, showed no observation of mutant strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis resistant to Teixobactin, which will shed light on mechanisms involved in properties antibiotic resistance and identify potential targets for developing antibiotics to augment the current standard for the prevention of antibiotic resistance mutations. A multichannel device iChip was used to isolate and cultivate uncultured bacteria, dilute soil was transferred to the iChips that each channel contains one bacterial cell.
