Carbohydrates are also the sugars, starches and fibers found in fruits, grains, vegetables and milk products. Such sugars would include glucose, fructose, and sucrose. Carbohydrates give us energy, but only for a short period amount of time. Without the energy the carbohydrates give our body, our body functions will break down and stop working.
