Corruption Perceptions Index Each year, Transparency International publishes the list of the most corrupt nations in the world by analysing several parameters. Surprisingly, the United States continues to rank poorly as compared to other advanced economies such as Netherlands, Norway, Denmark and Finland. This is a clear indictment of the US as a leader of the free world and a free market economy and this has the probability of affecting the confidence of investors in the nation. The result of this is that the country may soon experience a cash crunch as a clear nexus has been established between corruption and financial crisis. The public sector should be at the centre of reshaping the regulation of the new world order while the government must reassert itself in the control and monitoring of the financial
