For the past 15 years, the Department of Biology at the University of York have been able to complete the first continent-wide study of “pyrodi- versity” by collecting satellite data of fires in protected areas across the sa- vannas and mapping the resulting species distribution patterns. Due to these fires modifying and varying the supply of predators and resources, species diversity of mammals increased by around 20% and birds by 30%. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
