2 Non-franchised Small Business Analysis In business, sometimes the better opportunity for an entrepreneur is not in starting up a business of their own creating, but to purchase an existing business. To determine if purchasing an established business is the right move to make for the entrepreneur, there are several factors to consider. The following evaluation is based on Hope Blooms Flowers and Things of Eagle, Idaho. Business Model Hope Blooms Flowers and Things is a locally owned and operated florist shop in Eagle, Idaho. The company has been in business for 40 years. In addition to local, in shop purchases, the company is also part of the Florists’ Transworld Delivery (FTD) network. In other words, customers from anywhere in the world can order flowers and other offered products either over the phone or on line from this company for delivery within its service area (Hope Blooms Flowers, n. d.) because the company is in the FTD network, which operates globally with a centralized electronic network. This business model has been in operation since the days of the telegraph.
