Weather Study Guide Weather Weather is the current condition of the atmosphere in a place. This includes temperature, wind, and precipitation, but it happens at a specific time. Meteorologists are scientists that use weather instruments to understand, explain, and forecast the weather. All weather is caused by the Sun heating the Earth. Rain on a specific day describes weather. Weather Tools A Celsius thermometer measures temperature. A barometer measures air pressure. A rain gauge measures the amount of precipitation. A wind vane measures wind direction. An anemometer measures wind speed. An anemometer and wind vane both measure wind, but an anemometer measures the speed of the wind while a wind vane measures the direction.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
