The view of leadership during that time was more about commanding and controlling people instead of having a shared vision and creating relationships (Daft R.L. 2010). Looking back at the current job announcement it is structured in such a way that it relates more to the old school leadership view. Trait theory was a big theory back in the 1990’s which makes it seem as if a good leader had specific traits which made them a good leader. The current job announcement for new hires was more effective back when leaderships styles like transactional leaders were thought to be the best type of leaders. These leaders were more focused on the efficiency of the work being done instead of being focused on those doing the work (Gandolfi & Stone Pg.6(4). The goal of any company is to be as efficient as possible and to be results oriented which should be unspoken. Changing the verbiage in the
