Almost Christmas Synopsis : It’s almost Christmas in the Meyers house. All the kids are coming home, bearing gifts and mutual love and laughs .. or so we think… but we will never find out what the Meyers really came to bring.. SCENE 1 : Five days Cheryl : Oh look who’s finally here.. Pops : Hey darling Rachel : Hey dad , I was thinking about mom on the way over here .. I remember when I first got married , momma finally let me make the stuffing Cheryl : Well that didn’t work out Lonnie : Babe don’t start Cheryl : I was talking about dressing.. Rachel : Of course you was , you know what ( speaks to child ) hunny let’s go Evan : Ayooo Ayo Evan in the house Evan : wait a minute , yall two arguing already … Rachel storms off quietly -------- *Cheryl dramatically storms off and her husband chases behinds her as well as the rest of the family ----- Pops : you two get back here right now …. What is the matter with you two ? Rachel : Dad she started Christian : Actually you both started Cheryl : You know what you stay out of it Christian , you only making it worst Christian : Oh okay I’m making it worst , so I’m Lonnie now.. You know what *Utterly chatter going on * Pops : quiet *Utterly chatter going on * Pops: quiet Pops : Shutup !! what would your mother say if she seen you carrying on like this *Evan mocks everything that pops is doing secretly behind his back* Pops : Five days . just five days so we can make

through Christmas *Evan gets caught & reaches in for a hug Evan : Love you pops , hug me back I need it . *Pops flag them all off and walks away with his head down Aunt May: Yall ought to feel like a bunch of dummies *Utterly chatter goes on Aunt may : Shutup , I don’t want to hear it … Yall daddy to old to be going though this crap..ALL of yall need to get in this kitchen and apologize before I jack all of yall up.. Evan: I just got here so I – Aunt May : You going to apologize cause you got on them shoes Aunt May : Look at this young crap , here push a chick again ..push a chick again , & Lonnie get away from me blowing my dang on buzz.. Rachel CHILD : we not going to make to Christmas are we ? Aunt May : Not a chance baby ______________________________ -------Curtains Close ---- Side scene 1: Mama’s Christmas miracle poem “Mama told me a story a long, long time ago, not like any that I'd ever heard, all about a little girl mama used to know, how I remember every word. Seems like a lifetime ago, though I remember it so well. It was a Christmas Eve I'll never forget as far as I can tell. We were sitting at the kitchen table, it was only my mother and me. I was dreaming of Christmas morning and all the presents under the tree. Dad wasn't doing that well and money was scarce that year. Mama found a way of telling me without me shedding one tear. She told me a story of a little girl and a Christmas long ago, who came from far away, a place where it rarely snowed.
