In this regard, the paper will employ a current issue in the news article and trail it down to the Socrates philosophical concept of the soul. Thus the paper will employ the article by Wayne Jackson " do human being have an immortal soul? " this article will be used to expound on the contrasting issue that emanates from the two accounts. Additionally, the article will depict Socrates take on Immortal soul and the reader’s dismissal of the existence of an immortal soul on humans. In this regard the paper will strive to understand the two players as they expound on their understanding of the soul. I chose this article because it stands to oppose Socrates belief in Immortality. The opposing ideas in the articles are very alluring and thus analyzing this article will be a stepping step in understanding Socrates. Similarly, the article has biblically support with a provision that will aid in comparing the two concepts of Immortality. The article refutes the existence of the human body in an immortal state and depicts that only God has such powers (Jackson, 1). This article tries to show how the early philosophers were wrong and directed by atheism to regard the human body as immortal. The article defends its take on lack of immortality from a biblical perspective and quotes Bible verses to support the argument. For a chance one may think the reader has a grudge with Plato and Socrates, the article is a thriller as it begins with the reader
