INTRODUCTION Communication is a process which takes place for interaction and sharing meaning or ideas as well as exchanging and evaluating thoughts and opinions. However, in a simpler way, communication’s main objective is to ensure that the message form one point to another point gets through regardless any types of source. There are four types of communication such as verbal communication, non-verbal communication, written communication and visualizations. There is a process in order for communication to take place. The communication process takes place when a message or communication is sent by the sender through a communication channel to a receiver or to multiple receivers. The sender encodes the message into the most appropriate form to source to the communication channel whereas the receiver decodes the message to comprehend its meaning and evaluate it. The objective of this assignment is discuss and evaluate the importance of communication and implications of conflicts in a family system. Misunderstanding can possibly occur in any stage of communication process and there will be also plenty of barriers for effective communication to take place. Communication in a family system involves interpersonal communication which means an interactional process between two people, either face-to-face or through any mediated forms. The occurrence of interpersonal communication is when individuals negotiating their roles in this process, either consciously or unconsciously. Senders and receivers are absolutely important in this communication process. In face-to-face communication the roles of the sender and receiver are not easily distinguishableas both parties communicate with each other, even if in very subtle ways such as through eye-contact and body language. In fact in a communication system, even a simple gesture or add to the tone will give a message because it indirectly involves emotions in a message which could actually be understood by the parties involved. Implication of conflicts may occur within family. Communication flow within a family can cause conflicts and it plays the role to be the most effective solution when a conflict or misunderstanding occurs within family members.
