However, the healthcare organization has beheld a decline in the quality of the care provided to patients in recent months. Following the increased number of patients complains, a request to conduct an internal analysis was requested. Quality care is always the cornerstone for any healthcare organization that wishes to experience growth. Most of the healthcare complaints received by the organization touch on medication errors. Such errors have been reported to have adverse effects on patients as some of them get the wrong dosage leaving their illnesses unattended to. Long waits by patients form another common complaint among the patients. Such long delays are associated with a large number of patients that require medical services from the organization. Additionally, the healthcare organization accepts just some insurance covers, and that hinders the provision of quality care to some patients.For this healthcare organization, provision of the right care when needed and also under the right setting serves as the core mission. The achievement of this mission proves to be difficultin many healthcare organizations that have not set quality measures. Therefore, quality controls have to be put in place to help this healthcare organization achieve the core mission. The organization commits to working for hand in hand with federal policymakers, regulators as well as the agencies of research in a bid to come up with procedures as well as policies that will help create an environment that would facilitate the provision of quality care. Therefore, in this paper, the quality initiatives that the healthcare organization has implemented in a bid to increase the quality of care extended to the patients will be discussed.

HEALTHCARE QUALITY 3Quality InitiativesThe healthcare organization has a quality improvement committee that plays a vital role in ensuring the improvement of performance as well as overseeing the quality of care provided. According to Teitelbaum and Wilensky (2013), it is necessary for a healthcare organization to have such a committee as it significantly contributes to the maintenance of quality care provided to patients. The quality initiatives that the organization has implemented in a bid to increase the quality of care provided to patients are patient-centeredness, safety and timeliness. Patient-centeredness is a significant quality care initiative as it revolves around patient care. This initiative ensures that the care provided to a patient considers and respects the preferences, beliefs needs as well as the values of the patient (Cantiello et al., 2016). All clinical decisions made concerning a particular patient have to be guided by the individual’s values.
