FILM CRITICISM PRACTICUM 2Film Criticism PracticumDécor, sound, lighting, and setting are essential aspects of filmmaking, which destine the effectiveness of the story in the film to the viewer. This paper looks at mise-en-scène, which is the arrangement of elements of a film prior to the filming actual time. The elements referred to here, include the sets, props, the lights, props, and the characters. I have chosen this aspect of the film as it has a lot of interesting features in The Dark Knight film which has been directed by Christopher Nolan. He has used different camera angles to come up with scenes that appear to bediversionary from the traditional action genre, establishing a contrast in the expectations of the viewers. Further, in this paper, the focus will be given to the aspects of décor, setting, sound, lighting and camera use and the impact they create in the audience.
