1. After reading the article, briefly summarize the key points, concepts, strategies, lessons learned, etc. I quite enjoyed this chapter. It was like being behind the scenes and learning “what not to do” to keep your top people. I really appreciated the points that “high potential does not equal high engagement”, and that “current high performance does not equal future potential”. I have worked with people who were really great at what they did, but really didn’t want to be there and I’ve seen people who may have performed well but really shouldn’t have been moved into management roles. 2. What did you learn about yourself? I want to help people find their happy place of the right mix of engagement and potential. I didn’t really notice anything particularly ground breaking about myself this week, I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing, maybe I’m still processing the reading. I do know that for me, I want to be highly engaged and display high potential, and that’s probably why I’m being a little bit picky about where I am applying for jobs right now. I think it’s fair (for me and for the potential company) to make sure my values align with whatever company I’m interested in.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
