Learning Objectives: Educational psychology is the study of how students learn in classrooms. It is a  branch of psychology that is concerned with understanding and improving how students  acquire a variety of capabilities through formal instruction in classroom settings.  Educational psychology and the research involved offer many useful ideas for improving  classroom instruction. That being said, teachers who are trained in some for of  educational psychology are usually more effective.  Good teaching is partly an art and partly a science. It can be seen as an art because it involves emotions, beliefs, values, and flexibility. It can be seen as a science through  the research involved. The best teachers combine both the artistic and scientific sides to  teaching. Vocab and Terms 1. Reflective teaching:  process where teachers think over their teaching practices,  analyzing how something was taught and how the practice might be improved or  changed for better learning outcomes. 2. Formative evaluation: formal and informal assessments whose sole purpose is to
