EVOLUTION OF BUSINESS ETHICS 2 Evolution of Business Ethics Corporate ethics is also known as business ethics where it refers to how most of the business functions are directed by the several ethical principles. There are significant issues within the business ethics which include; the level of discrimination, relations between the employer and employee, social responsibilities and the level of inside trade (Choi 2008) . Despite many laws being put in place to guide on the level of ethical standards within businesses, it is usually the responsibility of the management to have particular ethical codes. Having good ethics in any form of business helps the company to brand its self while the social issues and norms often act as a driving force in the business ethics. In 1960 which was the period of existence for generation X brought the first changes in business ethics. This was because the cultural morals were changing within individuals and their concern for social issues that affected them within the environment. The individuals at the time wanted to build a better world for themselves as their employers saw that their ethical standards were low in comparison with the previous generation. This was because
