Emanuel 1 Shaneese Emanuel Susan Pappas ANT2000 02/17/2019 Humans and chimpanzees have obvious physical differences but we are 98 percent alike genetically. “In fact, chimps are more closely related to humans than they are to gorillas” (10 Ways Chimps and Humans are the Same). One way that we are similar is that the human brain is, “structurally identical to a chimpanzee brain”(10 Ways Chimps and Humans are the Same). The body of a chimpanzee is similar to a human body. They also experience things using their five senses. Just like humans, chimpanzee uses body language to communicate. “They also demonstrate a range of emotions including joy, sadness, fear and even empathy”(10 Ways Chimps and Humans are the Same). “Humans and chimps originate from a common ancestor”(Chimps, Humans 96 Percent the Same, Gene Study Finds). Despite being similar to humans chimpanzees is also different in many ways. One ways that human and chimpanzees are similar is that the human brain is “structurally identical to a chimpanzee brain”(10 Ways Chimps and Humans are the Same). Of course, the human brain is three times larger than a chimpanzee brain. The human brain and a chimpanzee brain is similar in both shape and structural. “There are several features of the chimpanzee brain that are more similar to humans than to other primates” (Chimpanzee Brain Facts). For example, chimpanzees have, “the ability to morphologically define both Broca’s and Wernicke’s area using similar landmarks to the human brain”(Chimpanzee Brain Facts). This is important for language
