Week 3 HIS 206.docx - What primary source did you choose...

This preview shows page 1 out of 1 page.

What primary source did you choose and what event does it focus on? The primary source I chose was the newspaper article on Jim Thorpe. Why was this event important, and how does it fit into the conflicts and changes of the 1920s? This event was very important to Native Americans. The article was saying “The Indian has long been the greatest all-around athlete ever developed in America, which is to say he is the greatest athlete of modern times” (Edgren, 1922, para 3). Before, Native Americans were not viewed on the same level as the “White Americans”. It goes to show how times are changing and other races are being viewed the same as everyone else.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
