This preview shows page 1 - 2 out of 2 pages.

1. The function of the coronary arteries is that it supplies blood to the heart muscle. The heart muscle needs oxygen- rich blood to function. If there is any coronary artery disorder or disease can have serious implications by reducing the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the heart muscle. The coronary arteries run along the outside of the heart and have small branches that dive into the heart muscle to bring it blood. The coronary arteries are made up of two main arteries namely the right and left coronary arteries which are charged with the transportation of blood to the ventricles and the atria. 2. All heart attacks happen of the flow of oxygen-rich blood to a section of heart muscle is suddenly blocked. Most of the heart attacks are a result of coronary heart disease. This disease is when the arteries are build up with plaque. The area of plaque can break open inside of an artery. This causes a blood clot to form on the plaque's surface. If the clot becomes large enough, it can mostly or completely block blood flow through a coronary artery.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
