Creation Account From Genesis – Chapter 1

The main point of Genesis presents the events of the creation of the universe and how
mankind came to be.
•
The Universe was created in 6 days and on the 7
th
day, God rested.
•
Human beings were created to be dominant over all other species.
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male
and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27, NIV)

•
God created the Heavens and the Earth (Genesis 1:1, NIV)
• Creation of light, then separation of the light (day) from the darkness
(night) (Genesis 1:3-5, NIV)
•
Formation of the Earth’s atmosphere; separating the water into
subterranean water, (ocean) and atmospheric water (sky) (Genesis
1:6-8, NIV)
Creation Account from Genesis - Days 1 & 2

•
Dry land and oceans were created (Genesis 1:9-10, NIV)
• The land to produce vegetation, seed-bearing plants, and trees that
bear fruit. (Genesis 1:11-13, NIV)
•
Lights in the sky were formed to separate day from night; Sun for the
day and Moon for the night, with orbit to mark passage of time.

Stars were created and set in the sky to give light on Earth. (Genesis
1:17, NIV)
