Amazon Inc. Training and Development vision statement of: “1. Global Reach, 2. Customer prioritization, 3. Widest selection of products” (Gregory, 2017) are the main characteristics of the company. The mission statement of Amazon.com is, “We strive to offer our customers the lowest possible prices, the best available selections, and the utmost convenience”. (Gregory, 2017). Amazon makes sure that the customer is the most important asset within the company. The mission statement of Amazon.com centers around the one thing that's always been most important - the online Amazon.com customer. Amazon.com has had a clear focus and a solitary mission since it began. Founder Jeff Bezos has publicly referred to the Amazon.com mission statement as the guiding force behind his leadership decisions many times in the company's 18-year history. What capabilities does the company need as a result of the business strategy and business environment challenges? Since the beginning of Amazon’s existence in July 1994, they have proven an innate ability to adapt to the changes that they need to keep them competitive over time. The original product that Amazon set out to sell was books. Not too many companies have been able to evolve from trend to trend like Amazon and continue to set trends. Now you can log on to the site place your order for just about anything you can imagine, and it can be delivered in as quick as an hour, depending on what you have ordered and where you are located (Boss, 2017). "Amazon is actively investing in fulfillment center and distribution infrastructure in each of these countries, with significant capacity build-out relative to existing demand," the note reads. "We believe that Amazon's strategy is to build out capacity so that demand can be met

The one thing that keeps Amazon.com as the top competitor is because they value change and make the necessary changes, and the adaptability to make any changes and adjustments on the fly!! (Boss, 2017) What types of training and development will best attract, retain, and develop the talent needed for success?
