2PERSONAL REFLECTION PAPERPersonal Reflection PaperGroup therapy has its advantages. It provides a safe and respectful environment. This is convenient and economic for individuals seeking treatment. Firstly, in this paper the writer will go into detail about a significant subject that was learned during this course. Secondly, the paper will also discuss the skills learned on what it takes to be a potential group leader. Third, the following paper will have writer specific skills and experience that need to develop to become a group counselor along with areas of confidence and opportunities that go into leading a group. Lastly, the writer will share the theoretical basis that is mostly drawn to practice in the future andthe types of counseling groups that might want to lead in the future. Most significant subject learnedThe subject learned that was most significant to the writer was important roles and characteristics of a group leader. As a group leader it is important that you provide support, encouragement, establish relationships and provide guidance. As a facilitator some characteristics needed when leading a group is to have a hard exterior, present creativity, have patience, great energy and refusal to give into negative behaviors or hostility (Corey, 2016).
