The American people are not beginning to lose faith in their congress, about all faith is nearly gone. According to a Gallup poll, only fifteen percent of the country approves of their congress in 2018[Gal18]. There are many factors that are to blame for the United States Congress disfunction. Money in politics is to blame, corruption, and the two major parties Democrats and Republicans bickering like an old married couple. The polarization of the parties is causing nothing to get done, little laws getting passed, budgets not agreed upon, and executive branch seats are left with no one sitting in them. The No Labels coalition has developed a twelve-point plan to get congress moving again. Their point on Filibusters is sound and should be absorbed into congressional debates immediately. The point is, when the filibuster was introduced it was only used 35 times for the first 50 years [McK] and now it’s being abused and obstructing the law-making process.
