Week 1 Discussions Relativism The text states that relativism insists that there is no right or wrong, but these terms must be relative to a culture, society, or an individual (Mosser, 2010). I think that pride is a good virtue to look at for this situation. I recently wrote a paper on the Amish culture and they believe that pride is wrong and it leads to a lack of humility and therefore is a bad quality to have. Other cultures believe that pride is good in moderation and that it is a good thing to have pride in yourself and in what you do. In this situation, no one is right or wrong, it is all about personal beliefs and values. References Mosser, K. (2010). Ethics & social responsibility. Sandiego, CA: Bridgepoint Education, Inc. Retrieved from Egoism and Altruism I think that volunteering or giving to charity is an act that is not done out of self-interest. These acts are usually done for people that are more unfortunate, by people that want to give back to the community.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
