Surname 1 Name Instructor Course Date Self-Efficacy Self-efficacy refers to a person's belief in his or her abilities to do something (Schwarzer). It determines how environmental opportunities are perceived and thus influences people's goals and behaviors. Some of the sources that contribute to the enhancement of a child self-efficacy include the mastery experience, direct persuasion and mood (Schwarzer). A child sense of self- efficacy can be influenced by both parents and schools in a number of ways. Parents can influence their children's sense of self-efficacy by praising them for a job well done. This provides an encouragement and support that affects a child's self-efficacy. Teachers can also enhance students' beliefs on their abilities by praising them for their excellent performance in class. Praising children helps them to develop confidence even in the abilities they believed is beyond their control which contributes to self-efficacy development (Epstein and Willhite 190).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
