Chapter 29 Identities Lodge Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine The Lodge Corollary was an amendment to the Monroe Doctrine proposed by Henry Cabot Lodge. The Corollary stated that the establishment of foreign spheres of influence violated the Monroe Doctrine, which included governmental and corporate actions. “Bull Moose” Progressive Party The “Bull Moose” Progressive Party was President Teddy Roosevelt’s 3rd party which he ran for presidential office under in the Election of 1912. The Progressive Party would operate under the New Nationalism idea, and advocated for stronger regulation of corporations, women’s suffrage, and social welfare. Later, the party would later die out due to a lack of elected influence. The Election of 1912 The Election of 1912 saw the nomination of incumbent President Taft under the Republican Party, Woodrow Wilson under the Democratic Party, and former- President Roosevelt under the Progressive Party. Because Roosevelt and Taft split the Republican vote, Wilson was able to win the presidency. New Nationalism New Nationalism was Theodore Roosevelt’s presidential platform during the 1912 election. In this platform, Roosevelt strongly asserted that the most important issues in government were human welfare and property rights, with the former taking precedence.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
