CHANGE MODEL 2 Change Model Assignment As the Sales and Marketing Director for Sea Treasures, I will immediately implement a short-term, small scale solution to increase revenue by creating an Internet Website to sell the large inventory of aquarium decorator items. I will also implement a long-term, large scale solution within the next six months, which will expand the website by selling live sea creatures such as tropical fish and small sea turtles online. This transformational change initiative will face challenges such as strong employee resistance, addressing new technology and shipping methods. In this paper, I will be explaining how I will be using Lewin’s Force-Field Analysis and Resistance to change for the short-term, small scale solution, and Cummings and Worley’s five dimensions of leading and managing change for the long-term, large scale solution. Based on the circumstances of Sea Treasures, Lewin’s Force-Field Analysis and Resistance to change is a great solution for implementing a short-term change. Lewin’s force- field analysis, when used systematically, can help Sea Treasures overcome resistance to specific changes (Weiss, 2016). Furthermore, the analysis consists of only three stages of change: unfreezing, moving/changing, and refreezing in the force field. Weiss (2016) pointed out that the “unfreezing stage focuses on creating an emotional need for change by increasing the motivation to change” (Section 1.3). With that said, upon introducing the vision for short-term success, I will garner support from the staff by developing political support. Internal politics is important when implementing organizational change. In addition, I will inform staffs of plans to cut sale costs by 50% online, as well as offer incentives to employees who process the highest internet sales within a specific time frame. Bell, Choi, & Lodish (2012) pointed out that “Internet retailing currently represents approximately 8% of U.S. retail sales, and in many countries, it's an even larger percentage.” I am choosing cost-

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
