The magic realism stories “The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings” and “The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez both show magicalrealism. They are both alike and different in some ways. Magical realism is everywhere. Both of these stories show magic realism in different ways. In “A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings” the old man they found in the courtyard obviously had some huge wings. Elisenda even said at one point “He’s an angel,..He must have been coming for the child, but the poor fellow is so old that the rain knocked him down.” That is an example of magical realism. In “The Handsomest Drowned Man In The World” the dead guy the kids found on the shore made the people that lived in that village want to
