Name: Daniel Villares Date: 12/11/18 Period: 5 Headline or Article Title: A new way to turn saltwater fresh can kill germs and avoid gunk buildup Source URL/Website: Date of article: DECEMBER 11, 2018 Author: Maria Temming The claim scientists are making is how they have found a way to turn saltwater fresh while also killing germs and avoiding gunk buildup. As stated in the article “A new design for sun-powered technology may lead to longer-lasting devices that produce cleaner water. The trick boils down to preventing the device’s components from touching the saltwater. Instead, a lid of light-absorbing material rests above a partially filled basin of water, absorbing sunlight and radiating that energy to the liquid below. That evaporates the water to create pure vapor, which can be condensed into freshwater.” This invention can help save millions of people that can't afford or obtain fresh water.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
