Dr. Spear and peers,Starting off on the right foot is ideal. I would start off my contract negotiations by making it clearof how happy I am working in the practice and how well I get along with the staff. I hope that bynow, the physician knows how I work; my professionalism and my passion but if he does not I would make it know. Knowing that my contract is for renewal in three months, I would take those three months to make satisfaction cards that my patients can fill out. I would present my contributions I have brought to the practice in the last 2 year; using supporting data; keeping track of all my visits and on-call weekends (Buppert, 2015). I would present that working as a contractor (1099) benefits the practice. The doctor does not need to pay or offer benefits, offer 401K, worry about taxes as he would have had to working under a W2. As a contractor, I would be the one dealing with my own licensure and insurance, which would save the practice on those expenses (Maranjian, 2015).
