Literary Techniques and Their Connection to Conflict in Literature Week 2 Discussion 1 A Worn Path by Eudora Welty The short story I will be writing about is “A Worn Path” by Eudora Welty and the conflict in this short story I think is between the main character Phoenix and her fight to walk throw the woods to get medicine for her grandson, Phoenix faces many things like a bush grabbing her dress, a scarecrow scaring her along the way and her face-to-face run in with a white man with a gun, she even had to jump a fence, and crawl throw barbed wire, but the time I would have went through all of this I would have given up but she won her battle with mother nature. Phoenix’s will power was very strong. The theme of this story is that is well power and keeping at the fight, to overcome many obstacles I feel that she overcame the conflict and her hard work paid off in the end. Three elements in this short story would be Epiphancy when Phoenix said “ I wasn’t as old as I though”

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
