Case Scenario: What Would You Do?2AbstractAs I read the case scenario and prepared for the assignment this week, I started to reflect on myself as a teacher and how would I handle a situation like this. As a teacher we are suppose to protect our students. Even if that means that we don’t agree with their lifestyle or religious beliefs. It is hard to take your beliefs out of teaching. Teachers must act with professionalism andbe prepared to handle any situation. There are lots of connections that are noticed in the case scenario and the course text. One connection that automatically thought about was the case study “Timmy's Gender Nonconformity". In this case Timmy’s teachers had a hard time trying to figure out how to handle the situation. Timmy’s gender was nonconforming and moved to the beat of his own drum. (Gorski & Pothini, 2018) Timmy likes playing with “girl toys” and reading “girl books” and students were treating him different because of this (Gorski & Pothini, 2018). In the case scenario Billy was being treated differently because he had two moms. They were also treating Billy differently because he didn't dress like the other students (Laureate Education, 2015g). The connection that I noticed is that the students were giving them a hard time because they are different. The students must realize that the world is not going to be the same. Everyone looks
